God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” Observation: When the word Spirit is capitalized, it’s the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ words talking to the woman at the well. He’s telling her to be more concerned with truthful honest worship; not where or the religious rituals of worship. Where you worship doesn’t matter. He was talking to a Samaritan woman. A Jewish man wouldn’t normally speak to her, yet he knows everything about her. Application: Stop worrying about where you are worshiping or the religious rituals of worship. Are you worshiping from the heart? Are you worshiping in Spirit and in truth? You can only worship in the Spirit if he is living within you. Prayer: Spend time in prayer asking God to help you worship in Spirit and in truth. Ask him to help you be more concerned with that aspect of worship above anything else.
