Today’s Reading: Luke 1
“For no word from God will ever fail.” Luke 1:17
In Luke Chapter 1, we see that God doesn’t do anything by accident or chance; He always has a plan! From Zechariah being chosen to go into the temple to the birth of John the Baptist to Mary becoming the mother of Jesus. Every single intricate detail was orchestrated by God.
We also see that God sends his angel, Gabriel, to be present and speak to both Zechariah and Mary. He tells them each to not be afraid and gives them words from the Lord. Zechariah can’t believe what he hears so questions Gabriel. The result is silence until his son, John, is born. On the other hand, Mary humbly asks questions and then submits to the plans of Almighty God.
Do you believe that everything in your life is intricately planned and known by God? He did it then and he can do it now. Maybe your life has taken twists and turns, but know that God can use it for his glory and bring you to where you need to be.
What about when God speaks to you through his Holy Spirit? Do you listen? Do you believe and obey? When we don’t listen to the still small voice inside, we often end up facing consequences. But, when we do listen, we receive the blessing of being obedient and following our God.
Spend some time in prayer asking God to help you listen and obey his every word!
